1) "When I feel stuck, I go to the library." The universal antidote to writer's block and a weak copy is "more research." No exceptions.

2) Good b2b copywriter handles objections through direct preemptive tackling. A top-gun copywriter mitigates the risks without labeling them directly (which is extremely important when writing a "sharable email" that will go on a tour through the inboxes of multiple stakeholders).

3) Always read your sales copy out loud (even if you are in the line at Starbucks). If it doesn't sound well, it won't read well either.

4) Study non-fiction writers with direct and punchy language where verbs dominate over other parts of speech. My go-to picks are Hemingway (safe 12+ choice) and Chuck Palahniuk (not recommended for the faint of heart).

5) Don't be lazy to listen to LOTS of good cold calls and discovery recordings -- it will help you to tune into the right tone.

6) If you are writing top of funnel "get the first meeting" copy, an accurate and vivid description of the pains and challenges is mucho más importantes than the product features.
